valentino.

Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani (1931; -) is probably one of the most iconic fashion designers of all times.
Perhaps the word designer is a bit reductive, since he is and has always been a couturier, aspect that have made him very famous worldwide from the very early age of the beginning of his carrier.

His fashion study background comes from both Milan, where he started studying at the Scuola di Figurino at a very early age, and most of all from Paris, where he attended the Ecole de La Chambre Syndacale.
In 1959 opens his first atelier in Rome and begins lateron his collaboration with Giancalrlo Giammetti, that will follow and direct Valentino Fashion Group from that time on.

The reason why he probably became that notorious, apart from being such a good designer and couturier, has to be seen on the great amount of stars and fashion icons that he dressed during his whole carrier, starting from Jacqueline Kennedy, Brighitte Bardot, Jane Fonda and many other more.
Moreover, since the very beginning of his carrier til present, he has used a particular kind of red colour that is now famous as rosso valentino and that cannot be used by other designers.

In December 2007 he left fashion, commemorating his massive carrier with a huge celebration that took place in Rome a couple of months earlier, that celebrated his 45th year of carrier.
Over 600 famous people and collaborators were invited, and had the opportunity to attend a spectacular show and exposition of Valentino's remarkable dresses.

The outstanding carrier of the designer has beeing film by Matt Tyrnauer under the name of Valentino: The Last Emperor.
Because yes, he was and emperor.

brothel creepers.

Brothel creepers are a kind of shoes that found their beginnings in the years following World War II, as soldiers based in the deserts in North Africa wore suede boots with hardwearing crepe soles because of the climate and environment. Having left the army, many of these ex-soldiers found their way to the nightspots of London wearing the same crepe-soled shoes and these became known as Brothel Creepers.

The brothel creeper regained popularity in the early 1970s when they begun tho be sold them by Malcolm McLaren from his Let it Rock shop in London's King Road.
After that, creepers have been mostly sold in Camden Town (London) because of the punk and goth hint they begun to have.

Last winter creepers have come back to catwolks.
And even though it's a very hard shoe to wear because of its punk backgroung, is becoming to hit the collections of the most trendy fashion designers.

And they are slowly becoming the new black.

Prada heels.

Everyone knows that women go crazy for high heels, whatever the shape and the high is; from boots to sandals, from men-styled and classic shoes to the most fashionable ones, there's a big range of choice that varies according to everyone's needs and taste.

For the Fall-Winter there's one specific designer who has launched a new shape of heel that will definitely become a new must have; and who else could it be but Miuccia Prada? This designer together with the brand has been during the history of fashion probably one of the most prominent and effortless, being able to catch the worldwide attention of media for its avant-garde style.

The heels on issues surely open a window to a new world.
Tired of stiletto heels and sharp lines, women today look for more gentle and sinuous shapes, not only for the shoe itself, but also for the look of the heel that has, together with the color and the tip of the shoe, a relevant importance.

Prada has managed to give her personal view. And it works.

coat time.

Burberry Porsum (FW2011-12)

Although coats are considered a must by the majority of people (in fact they are in everybody's wardrobe), this autumn season will be overfilled by a great variety of them: starting from the most usual and classic, up to the most sculptured and artistic ones.
What we've seen on catwalks is that designers offer such a variety of coats of different colors and shapes that it would be tough not to find the right one for the season.
The most appropriate color will be camel, that is considered the color of the season. However lots of designers proposed them in orange, olive green, gray and cream.
Choose your own!
