To celebrate the 30th and the 25th anniversaries of Reebok's iconic models 

Freestyle HI and the Workout,

the Swedish fashion brand Cheap Monday was asked to create 

its own version of these classics.

MILAN FASHION WEEK: ICEBERG.

I had the chance to go to ICEBERG Fashion Show on Friday and I got extremely impressed by the collection.

Trends:

fur fur and fur again.

black leather, on trousers and jackets.

gold details such as buttons and zips.

silk shirts.

the colour pallet goes from black to white, with hints of orange, military green and bright yellow.

Amazing show, really.

I've chosen these 5 designers because they best show, from my point of view, the core of American Style. 

YELLOW seems a must. together with pastel colours, orange and dark red. 
and then sheer, sheer, and sheer again.

DOLCE & GABBANA. SUMMER 2012.

 

The first thing that came in everybody's mind by seeing the setting of DOLCE & GABBANA summer fashion show is a FAIR. 

The fashion show, taking place at 2 pm in Milan, have had a great impulse of originality, which is a constant element of the two Italian stylists, by using  lights and creating a stunning athmosphere, where the dominant theme was that of a fair, with thousands of colourful lightbulbs covering the roof and creating delicious shapes. 

Among the stars attending the fashion show, Anna Dello Russo in a gorgeous golden dress and wearing huge golden cherries on the top of her head; the italian actress and showgirl Martina Stella, in an elegant black dress; and a breathtaking Scarlett Johanson in a simple but comtemporary silver dress, that captured the attention of all the photographers. Not to forget that Miss Johanson is the current testimonial of the make-up branch of the firm. 

For the first half of the show, we've seen a spread of colours and prints very faithful the winter collection, but with a new impulse and force never seen before. 

From fruit to vegetables, from flowers to onions, these are the most powerful objects used for the prints: even the most improbable vegetables have been used, such as courgettes, aubergines, red peppers and onions, all mixed with very bright bags and purses. 

The second half of the show has been dominated by jewels and in particular precious stones of thousand colours, basically mixed with black fabrics and, once again, lace. 

A lot of feminine dresses but also separates, with shorts and high heels. 

Also the choice of the jewellery was very original, with seashells as earings and in particular pasta, that has managed to make the collection very young and wearable.

brothel creepers.

Brothel creepers are a kind of shoes that found their beginnings in the years following World War II, as soldiers based in the deserts in North Africa wore suede boots with hardwearing crepe soles because of the climate and environment. Having left the army, many of these ex-soldiers found their way to the nightspots of London wearing the same crepe-soled shoes and these became known as Brothel Creepers.

The brothel creeper regained popularity in the early 1970s when they begun tho be sold them by Malcolm McLaren from his Let it Rock shop in London's King Road.

After that, creepers have been mostly sold in Camden Town (London) because of the punk and goth hint they begun to have.

 

Last winter creepers have come back to catwolks.

And even though it's a very hard shoe to wear because of its punk backgroung, is becoming to hit the collections of the most trendy fashion designers.

And they are slowly becoming the new black.   

Prada (FW2011-12)

Everyone knows that women go crazy for high heels, whatever the shape and the high is; from boots to sandals, from men-styled and classic shoes to the most fashionable ones, there's a big range of choice that varies according to everyone's needs and taste.

For the Fall-Winter there's one specific designer who has launched a new shape of heel that will definitely become a new must have; and who else could it be but Miuccia Prada?This designer together with the brand has been during the history of fashion probably one of the most prominent and effortless, being able to catch the worldwide attention of media for its avant-garde style.  

The heels on issues surely open a window to a new world. 

Tired of stiletto heels and sharp lines, women today look for more gentle and sinuous shapes, not only for the shoe itself, but also for the look of the heel that has, together with the color and the tip of the shoe, a relevant importance. 

Prada has managed to give her personal view. And it works.

D&G (FW2011-12)

What we have been experiencing on the last runway shows is that printed fabrics are slowly coming back from the coffin they have been buried in for a couple of years.

It is evident that last trends have led us to a world of simple lines and full colors, where every look was created for the necessity of being sober.
However, since fashion is a continuous looking back to past and past trends, what we face today in the runways is a work on the fabrics themselves that from being plane clear and simple, are now turning into a flow of colors, letters and graphics.
This is just one of the thousand shades of the rainbow of last trends, but perhaps one of the most remarkable, that will probably and definitely put an end to that world of easiness and soberness we were used to.
