THE DESIGNER: 

Born in Kisslegg in South Germany in 1971, designer Markus Lupfer studied fashion design in Germany before transferring to the University of Westminster from 1995 - 1997, where he graduated. Koh Samui bought his final year collection and the Markus Lupfer label was born in December 1998.

Lupfer subsequently became a regular on the London Fashion Week schedule until February 2003. Renowned for his inspiring use of colour and print as well as knitwear and leather, he captured the attention of various brands, creating opportunities for collaborations and consultancy projects. March 1999 saw the launch of a capsule collection with Top Shop which has continued till today.

THE COLLECTION:

For his latest collection called, “Everything Under the Sun”, Markus Lupfer turned five models into wild beasts. "It's a tropical garden, it's a jungle, Hawaii, it's all about the natural elements," said the designer during an interview with British Vogue. And models acted as protagonists of this tropical world, thanks to an exclusive makeup.

Leopard print bombers and T-shirts with parrots and hummingbirds prints as well as palm leaves on jumpers. 

For the SS 2012 season the designer wanted to be "as close to tropics as possible". And it showed.
