It's been a while from the official statement about a collaboration between Versace, one of the most iconic Italian brends, and H&M, the Swedish retail-clothing company. It is in fact dated to June the 21st the release of the video on youtube where Donatella Versace (Creative Director of Versace) together with Margareta Van Den Bosch (Creative Advisor of H&M) present the main ideas of the entire collection.
There've been many rumors around it (as always I must say, in the fashion system), however there is something sure:
the collection will be available in selected H&M stores on the 21st of November 2011.
Forty pieces for women, only twenty pieces for men (unfortunatly) +++ accessories.
As Donatella herself sais, she's gonna use 'iconic Versace pieces of iconic Versace women', in other words a collection very in step with those of Gianni Versace of the 80s and 90s, the ones every woman was in love with.
This seemed to be all about the past. However, Donatella has managed to give the collection both a wave of interpretation and innovation, not taking the past for granted but instead giving it a new shape and skill; and what came out of the combination of Donatella and H&M is a great use of colours, leather, studs, spikes and colorful prints, prints and prints again.
Time is almost up, let's wait for it.
